How to Add Posts to WordPress Navigation Menu

If You Use a Block Theme

The steps above are for themes that use the classic Appearance → Menus screen. If your theme is a block theme, there is no Menus screen: open Appearance → Editor → Navigation, choose your menu and add posts, pages or links using the “+” button.

Which Posts Should You Add?

• Your most useful or most visited posts, so new visitors find them quickly.
• Guides that solve a common problem for your audience.
• Posts you want to promote, such as a new tutorial or a seasonal article.

Tips for a Clean Menu

• Keep the main menu short. Five to seven items are easier to scan than a long list.
• Use submenus to group related posts under one item. You can drag an item slightly to the right to nest it.
• Rename a menu item if the post title is too long. The label can be shorter than the title.
• If you want to promote many posts, create a category page or a “Start here” page instead of adding all of them to the menu.
